A round-up of accounting software options for Starling business customers
24th May 2024
If you run a UK business and regularly need to send, receive or hold euros or dollars, Starling’s multi-currency accounts could save you time, money and stress.
Whether it’s paying suppliers in Italy or receiving payment from clients in the US, Starling’s multi-currency bank accounts can make your business finances simpler. Especially now that we've expanded the Marketplace integrations of all three leading accountancy software providers to include Starling's multi-currency accounts.
You can connect your Starling business euro or dollar account to Xero, FreeAgent or QuickBooks. Once connected, transactions made from your account in euros or dollars will automatically feed through to your chosen accountancy software provider.
For Xero, you’ll need a premium subscription and for QuickBooks, you’ll need an Essentials, Plus or Advanced subscription. For FreeAgent, a basic subscription is all you need for transactions from a multi-currency account to be fed through.
Hold, send and receive euros and dollars and use a single debit card to manage all your Starling business accounts
Have your own local account details including IBAN for Europe and account/ACH routing number for the US
Make transfers at weekends (you’ll always see the exchange rate before the conversion is made)
Benefit from competitive exchange rate and transparent fees - when converting GBP to euros or dollars or vice versa. No hidden commission.
A Starling business euro or US dollar account can help you keep everything organised and up to date, making life easier for both you and your accountant, if you have one. We want to help you spend less time on banking admin and more time on running your business.
If you’re already a Starling business customer, you can apply for a euro or US dollar business account through the Starling app. Simply go to the main menu and tap ‘Open a new account’.
You can try a Starling business euro or dollar account for free for a month. If you want to continue, a Starling euro business account will then cost £2 per month or a dollar business account will cost £5 per month. You can cancel any time.
Before you can apply for a Starling business euro account or US dollar account, you’ll need to have a Starling GBP business account. There are no monthly fees for our GBP business accounts and our euro or dollar business accounts are an optional add on.
Both the business euro account and the business US dollar account are subject to eligibility criteria and will not be visible in the app to all businesses. The USD business account is available to limited companies but not sole traders (apologies!).
