The hustle and bustle of the city may help your daily step count but a nature walk can get your body moving and do wonders for your mental health. In fact, a survey led by Natural England found that almost nine in ten adults believe being in nature makes them ‘very happy’ – one of the many reasons why our partnership with the National Trust is so important to us. So why not head outdoors? And listen to our walking meditation as you go...

From birdsong to rustling leaves: a countryside soundscape awaits

📍 Morden Hall Park, South London

With endless green fields and soothing sounds of running water coming from the River Wandle, Morden Hall Park is the perfect escape. Depending on the season, you might try your hand at fishing or go for a splash in the cold, fresh water. There’s also a second-hand bookshop, cafe or Edwardian rose garden on site. The best news? Entry to the park is free for all.

Take yourself on a culture trip of days gone by

📍Ham House and Garden, Richmond, Surrey

Perched on the banks of the River Thames in Richmond, this impressive 17th century house and garden is full of history. With its extensive collection of art and furniture dating back 400 years, and its extensive gardens (including a productive kitchen garden), Ham House and Garden is an ideal spot for a family day out. If you’re peckish after exploring the grounds, you can get a bite to eat at the Orangery Café, or opt for a picnic.

Location: Ham Street, Ham, Richmond, Surrey, TW10 7RS

Nearest tube station: Richmond (District line)

If it’s fit for royalty and Lady Whistledown…

📍Osterley Park and House, West London

Just a short distance from Central London lives one of the city’s last surviving country estates and finest architectural gems. Once described as the ‘palace of palaces’, it’s no surprise that you may recognise the setting from Bridgerton or The Crown. A long walk through the formal gardens and parkland could leave you feeling like a different person, while the 18th century interiors of this Georgian manor house might just be the cultural top-up you need.

Location: Jersey Road, Isleworth, Middlesex, TW7 4RB

Nearest tube station: Osterley (Piccadilly line)
