Starling Bank has been all over the world! Here’s where our travel-friendly debit cards have been on holiday...
Do I need to let you know that I’m going abroad?
There’s no need to let us know if or when you’re heading overseas, you can carry on using your card as usual. That’s one less life admin task to do before you head off abroad! If you do feel you need to add a layer of security, you can instantly lock your card within the app from the Card Management section, then unlock again when you’re ready to.
How do I work out the exchange rate I’m going to get?
We use Mastercard’s exchange rate and don’t add anything on top. When you use your Starling card, you’ll receive a notification from us in Pound Sterling and the foreign currency of the country you’re in. You can also use Mastercard’s currency converter tool to work out the daily rate used, every day up to a year before.
You said you don’t charge ATM fees but I was charged! What’s happened?
That’s right, we don’t charge fees at ATMs — but unfortunately some ATM owners overseas do, which is out of our control.
